Description
The bishop V. Borisevicius was born in Šunskai parish in 1887. In 1903, he entered Seinai Priest Seminary and graduated from it in 1909. After graduation, he was sent to continue his studies at the University of Friborg in Switzerland. In 1910, he obtained the degree of the licensee, was ordained to the priests. On 28 August 1946, he was sentenced to death and was shot dead at the Security Prison in Vilnius on 18 November. He was buried in Tuskulėnai in a common grave with other murdered prisoners. During the war years and later he actively spoke against the occupation regimes and supported Lithuanianism. He was imprisoned, tortured, murdered and buried in a mass grave until forensic experts discovered the crimes of the Soviet butchers at the end of the twentieth century.
