Description

The monument to the cardinal erected in the churchyard of Kaišiadorys Cathedral in 2007 reveals a long, painful but the path full of light of faith. The sculptor of the monument is Arūnas Sakalauskas, the architect R. Krištapavičius. According to Monsignor Jurevičius, this sculpture impresses people with its realism, the grandeur emanating from a small human figure. Archbishop V. Sladkevičius was a vicar and parson in various places: Kietaviškės, Merkinė, Aukštadvaris, Kuktiškės, Šešuoliai. In 1952, he became the prefect and the father of the spirit of Kaunas Interdisciplinary Priest Seminary.
