Description
In 2002, after Pope John Archik II included another part of the Rosary, “The Mysteries of the Light”, in the prayer of the Rosary, the only sacred Rosary mystery path and park in Lithuania was established in Guronys village, in the homeland of Cardinal Vincentas Sladkevičius; The murals and the sculpture were created by the artist Antanas Kmieliauskas. The location of the park was chosen in search of ways to commemorate the memory of this venerable shepherd, who cherished the rosary prayer. The Cardinal remained in the memory of all as a symbol of modesty, deep affection for the Homeland and the people, and the phrase “Freedom is not given as a gift” became a peculiarity of the nation. There is a house of spiritual exercises and a museum near the park. In 2010, a chapel dedicated to the celebration of the Eucharist was opened at Guronys. The chapel is dedicated to St. Joseph, patron of the Kaišiadorys diocese. The chapel is always open for the celebration of the Eucharist for pilgrims who have come with a priest. Some come to Guronis as pilgrims, others for the Sacrament of Baptism and Marriage. People often travel in search of spiritual refreshment and most often find it in their hearts by letting God in.
