Description

During the Nazi occupation, Ignas Dzermeika was evicted with his family from his home in Kreivėnai village, Vižainiai county (Poland) and accommodated in Žiežmariai. In 1943, a hungry Jewish child from the Žiežmariai ghetto came to Dzermeikos’s house, Ignas Dzermeika gave him bread and was arrested by the Nazis for that, beaten in front of the Jews and given to the ghetto, and a few days later he died.
