On 10 September 1943, the Nazi army kidnapped about 20 young people from St. Apostle Jacob Church; Teofilius Matulionis made efforts to free them. On 10-11 September 1946, Teofilis Matulionis provided confirmation to 1,095 young people in the St. Apostle Jacob Church.
