A prelate, Ph.D., writer, journalist-educator Pranas Gaidamavičius, one of the most prominent priests of the Kaišiadorys Diocese, was born in Bajorų village on 26 January 1914. After graduating from Kaunas Seminary and Faculty of Catholic Theology on 22 May 1937, he was ordained a priest to the Kaišiadorys Diocese. In 1940, the priest P. Gaidamavičius went to Germany, studied there; then in 1946, he went to Belgium, worked and studied there. In 1950, the priest P. Gaidamavičius went to Canada, taught at the priest seminary, and worked in the local self-governing institution and traveled there. In 1987, he was granted the title of Pope Honorary Prelate. After the restoration of independence in Lithuania, he supported the activities of the church in Lithuania with his personal and donated funds. In 2010, the prelate Dr. Pranas Gaidamavičius returned to his native Kaišiadorys diocese and settled in the Diocesan-administered house in Aukštadvaris. In 2012, he celebrated the 75th diamond anniversary of the priesthood. The priest P. Gaidamavičius wrote about the blessed Teofilius Matulionis.
