Description

Jewish prayer house has been restored. The synagogue in Žiežmariai was built in 1690 – 1696. The synagogue was not only a centre of prayer but also of teaching and community life. Currently, the synagogue building is under the care of the Kaišiadorys District Municipality based on the lease agreement. The building has been renovated; it is used for educational, cultural, public tourism needs and other public activities.
